While your at the park on this patriotic day take a moment to remember those who faought for our freedoms at the Atwood Park War Memorial. Then as the sun sets, the Rochelle Fire Department will light up the sky.

Atwood Park is a short three mile drive form the Holiday Inn Express Rochelle. From the hotel go east on Eagle Drive, it will turn into N 19th Street take a right on 10th Avenue and look for parking.

Hotel near Rockford Airfest 2010



If you like revvin' up your engine and listen to her howlin' roar, then take the highway to the Holiday Inn Express in Rochelle Il. and go see Airfest 2010 at the Chicago Rockford International Airport on July 31 and August 1. This two day event is bound to excite the whole family with some of the greatest aerial feats by civilian and military pilots and skydivers.

Pack the family in your F-15 Strike Wagon and head on out to Rochelle to check in at the Holiday Inn Express then hit let the throttle out (while obeying all posted traffic signs) and take a short 30 minute drive North on Highway 51 and put your head in the clouds.

Acts this year will include Harrier and Hornet demo teams, Army Golden Knights Parachute team and a headline performance by the U.S. Airforce Thunderbirds, not to mention civilian performances and numerous static exhibits.

Ticket prices are a major value, from a general admission price of $7.50 for adults, $5 for kids age 5 - 12, and free for kids 4 and younger; to the family 4 pack flight line chalet package for only $100 if purchased at the main terminal.
